Terms of Service
The rules for using EILBLICK and the editorial standards we publish under. Written for readers, partners and news platforms.
Draft, not launch-ready: yellow fields must be completed with the real operator details and the whole text must be reviewed by a lawyer before launch.
This page is provided in English for international readers and news platforms. The German pages Impressum and Datenschutzerklärung are the legally binding versions for users in Germany. Last updated: [date of the reviewed version].
1. Who we are
EILBLICK (https://eilblick.de) is a German-language online news service covering politics, business, world affairs and technology. It is operated by [legal name, address and legal form of the operator, as in the Impressum]. Contact: [editorial e-mail address] or via the contact page. Responsible editor: [name of the responsible editor, as in the Impressum].
2. Acceptance
By using EILBLICK you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. Reading the website does not require an account.
3. Editorial standards
- Sources and licences. We publish material only from sources whose operators have permitted this use. Each article names its source and links to the original. Sources without permission are not used.
- Automated selection, no generative AI. Stories are collected and arranged by software with fixed rules. We do not use generative AI or large language models to write, rewrite, summarise or translate articles, and we do not invent quotes, images or sources.
- Attribution. Source name, original link and licence information are shown on each article. Images are shown only where their licence allows it, with credit.
- Publishing rhythm. New stories appear in fixed slots (at most three publication runs per day) so that selection stays deliberate.
- Corrections. We correct errors openly. Report them via Contact & corrections; corrected articles are marked as such.
- Independence and advertising. We do not sell editorial placement. [state whether any advertising or sponsored content exists; currently none is planned]
4. Use of the service
You may read, share links to, and quote short excerpts of our pages for personal and editorial use with a clear credit and a link. You must not: scrape or copy the service at scale, bypass technical protections, overload the service, attempt unauthorised access, or use it for unlawful purposes. Search engines and news platforms may crawl the site according to our robots.txt.
5. Intellectual property and third-party content
The EILBLICK name, logo, design and software are protected. Article text, images and other material that originate from third parties remain the property of their respective rights holders and are used under the licence shown on the article. Nothing in these Terms transfers rights in third-party material to you.
6. Notices from rights holders
If you believe material on EILBLICK infringes your rights, send a notice to [rights-holder notice e-mail address] with: your name and contact details, the exact page address, the material concerned, proof of your rights, and a statement that your notice is accurate. We review notices promptly and remove or correct material where a claim is justified. We may inform the source of the content about the notice.
7. Newsletter, push messages and other optional features
The newsletter is sent only after you confirm your address (double opt-in) and can be cancelled at any time through the link in every e-mail. Push notifications and external media (YouTube) are switched on only by your explicit choice and can be withdrawn at any time through the cookie settings in the footer. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
8. Links to other websites
Articles link to the original sources and to our profiles on Facebook and YouTube. We are not responsible for the content or data practices of other websites.
9. Availability and disclaimer
We aim for accurate and timely reporting but cannot guarantee that every item is complete, current or error-free, because we relay reports from third-party sources. The service is provided “as is” and may be interrupted for maintenance or technical reasons. Content is general information, not legal, financial or medical advice.
10. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, and where mandatory law requires. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of essential contractual duties and limited to the foreseeable, typical damage. Liability under the German Product Liability Act is unaffected. [lawyer to confirm this clause]
11. Changes
We may update these Terms when our service or the law changes. The current version is always available at this address, with its date at the top. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law and contact
German law applies, excluding conflict-of-law rules, without removing mandatory consumer protection of your country of residence. [place of jurisdiction, if legally permitted] Questions about these Terms: [legal contact e-mail address].
